Times Square 1-2-3

This project consists of three volumes that contain photo sequences from Times Square in New York. Three photographs are taken in quick succession from the same location, with time exposure. Each volume contains one of the three photos. If the volumes are paged through at the same time, they create a time sequence. The volumes begin with a motto from “La chambre claire. Note sur la photographie” by Roland Barthes, found in Volume 1 in the French original, Volume 2 in the German translation [Die helle Kammer. Bemerkung zur Photographie], and Volume 3 in the English translation [Camera Lucida. Reflections on Photography].

3x 11 color photographs laser-printed, computer typesetting (Industria), texts letterpress printed with polymer plates, coated and glassine paper, 3 booklets (cardboards with cloth spine and embossed titles) in a slipcase (cardboards, black painted wood strips), each 24 pages, 20.5 × 31.2 cm, each 40 numbered and signed copies, Flörsheim 2014
