Frankfurt – Hochroth


“Frankfurt,” a text excerpt by Marie Luise Kaschnitz, and “Hochroth” [Bright Red], a poem by Karoline von Günderode, are printed on photographs taken in Frankfurt with time exposure. Both authors lived in Frankfurt, though at different times. The texts are broken down into word and sentence fragments and positioned in the middle of each book page. Günderode’s poem (1803) is positioned horizontally and printed in red, using Antiqua font. Kaschnitz’s text (1973) is positioned vertically and printed in black, using Grotesk font.
